London Renters Union community solidarity workshop

Oct 4, 2018 | News

Free training for LRU members

Tuesday 23 October // 6:45pm – 9pm
Common House, Unit 5E, 5e Punderson’s Gardens, London E2 9QG

Has your landlord ever treated you unfairly? Do you want to learn how collective action can help renters to win better conditions? You’re not alone.

This workshop aims to develop and share the experiences we have as a union in supporting each other and building collective power.

There will also be space in the meeting for London Renters Union members who are currently facing housing issues to get support to stand up to their landlord or estate agent.

If you wish to attend, please make sure you register using the form on this page. Capacity is limited, so some members maybe asked to attend a future workshop.

They’ll be snacks, tea and coffee.

What we will cover in this workshop:

  • The big picture: how member support fits into the story and strategy of the union and the transformation of the housing system
  • Our rights as renters: how we’re protected against evictions, disrepair, and rogue landlords, and where the law is rigged in favour of landlords.
  • How we’re using collective action to win with our members.
  • Everything you need to know to get involved with our community solidarity and member support organising.
