14th November – London Renters Union all member assembly 2020

London Renters Union all member assembly 2020
11am-2pm, Saturday November 14

The world has changed since our last All Member Assembly in 2019, and the union has been busy growing our power as renters – doubling our membership to 4,000 renters, and continuing the fight for decent, secure housing for all throughout the pandemic. The government is leaving renters to fend for themselves through this crisis – but we’re organised and we’ve built an incredible community that is fighting back.

This not-to-be-missed event is your chance to:

Making proposals to the assembly
As well as a chance for us all to get together, a union assembly is a democratic space where all members can put forward proposals to the union. These might be about the strategy or direction of the union, or how it works together. These proposals will help us to develop our existing strategy and demands. You can read more about the 2019 All Member Assembly here.

Proposals can be made by a branch or working group, or by a group of individual members – deadline for submissions is 12 midday on November 7. The assembly will also include elections for 3 directly-elected members to the union’s Coordinating Group. All current LRU members will receive an email with information about elections and how submit a proposal shortly.
