Councillors and the housing system – 7pm on Tuesday 26 January

As many of you know, at the all member assembly last year we began a discussion on the role of councillors in the union (specifically whether they should be members) and it was decided to make some final decisions on it at a forum early this year. In anticipation of the upcoming forum, and in order to help us all think about the union’s relationship to councillors, Lewisham Branch is hosting a discussion on the topic on Tues 26th January at 7pm. All union members are invited to join the discussion, but please note no decisions will be taken here, that will be for the forum (date tbc). At this event we will look at what councillors do, listen to an invited councillor on how they see their role, and hear experiences of our members with councillors.
