Tell Tower Hamlets Council: Cut Mears
For too long, council housing tenants in Tower Hamlets have had to put up with slow and poor quality repairs done by profiteers Mears.
While tenants suffer with disrepair, damp and mould Mears CEO Lucas Critchley takes home an estimated £676,000 in salary and bonuses, and Mears shareholders receive tens of millions of pay-outs!
It’s time to stop the transfer of wealth from the council and residents of Tower Hamlets to profiteers Mears. It’s time for a repairs service that puts tenants first and prioritises long-term solutions and protection of the borough’s housing.
Next year we have a chance to send a clear message to the council: don’t renew Mears contract. Bring repairs services back in house. Protect the borough’s council housing stock now.
