LRU members have been working with other tenants’ unions in the UK/Ireland to run a series of exchanges. Some LRU members went to Dublin and Manchester and now delegates from CATU (Ireland), GMTU (Manchester), Acorn and Living Rent (Scotland) will be hosted by us in London in September.
Program outline
Friday 15th September evening
Starting at 6pm – Movie night featuring 3 short films by CATU, GMTU, and LRU, followed by a discussion.
Saturday 16th from 3pm
- Drop-in art making in the common room.
- 3:00 – 5:15pm – Workshop: Race, Migration, and Housing.
- Evening: Party and BBQ
Sunday 17th all day
- 11:30pm – 1pm – Workshop: Discussion on Trans Liberation and Housing.
- 1:45pm – 3:15pm – Workshop: Disability justice now!
- 3:30pm – Closing assembly – Workshop: Housing movement: politics and strategy
Final timings will be sent to everyone who registers.
Every day:Â Two quiet spaces available, one with art. Mindful practice and stretching opportunities offered. Delicious food. Help with travel costs and childcare.
