21 March: Renters’ Day of Action to End Section 21

When: 1pm-5pm, Tuesday 21st March 2023
Where: Westminster, Central London

The reason that it’s so easy for landlords to evict us is a piece of housing law called Section 21. Back in 2018, the government promised to end Section 21 evictions following a campaign by LRU and our allies.

The government also promised big changes to safety and standards for private renters. But nearly four years on, Section 21 still remains in force and evictions are on the rise.

On March 21, renters from across the UK are going to Westminster to show that we’re united and we’re fighting for our rights.

This is your chance to link up with other renters and talk to your member of parliament about the need for an end to Section 21, rent controls and improved conditions.

The day of action is being organised by the Renters Reform Coalition, a big alliance that the LRU is a member of.
