We’ve had a pretty great first year – growing to over 1,500 members, improving over 50 members housing situations, and, alongside other housing organisations, pressuring the government into announcing plans to scrap section 21 (check out more about what we’ve achieved here). For the next year, we want to keep building our power so we can transform the housing system.
To do this, we are inviting all our members to our second LRU Core Training where we can build the skills needed to grow our union from the bottom up. Ideally every member of the union will come on the core training at some point so we can share all our skills, knowledge, and ideas.
At this free training we will cover:
- How we can stand up to landlords and estate agents and win
- How to speak out and communicate about your story as a renter
- How to build strong relationships and encourage people to get involved in the union
- The union’s history, structure and strategy to transform the housing system
Lunch and professional childcare will be provided. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
